NEWTON Public Meetings

• The following meetings are open for public attendance.

• Newton County Board of Supervisors meet first Monday at 10 a.m. and third Thursday at 9 a.m.

• Newton Aldermen meet first and third Tuesday’s at 5:30 p.m.

• Decatur Aldermen meet first Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m.

• Newton County School Board meets on the second Monday each month at 6 p.m.

• Newton Municipal School Board meets the second Monday of each month.

• The following arrest was made by the Newton Police Department last week.

• Jerome Tucker, 37, DUI first offense, open container, suspended drivers license, under implied consent



Decatur PD

• The following arrests were made by the Decatur Police Department last week.

• Michael Griffin, 18, DUI first offense, running a stop sign

• A. Jones III, 20, simple assault

• Patrick S. Gaddis, 19, simple assault

• Daylon P. Ware, 23, suspended drivers license

• Markus Travon Culberson, 20, warrants, suspended drivers license, improper equipment

• Anthony Walker, 44, possession of alcohol small amount

• Keith Welborn, 48, running a stop sign, suspended drivers license



Union PD

• The following arrests were made by the Union Police Department last week.

• Bill C. Buntyn, 38, DUI first offense, careless driving, possession of beer

• Larry Burrage, 22, contempt of court, public drunk
