Kids help mother in car wreck

— On Friday, April 11 two little boys, Will and Riley Boswell, became heroes to their mom, Sonya Boswell after their Tahoe wrecked on Lucy Lane while she was driving the boys to ball practice.
“The last thing I remember is leaving the house after buckling the boys in their car seat,” Boswell said. “They were playing their Gameboys in the backseat.”
Nine year-old Will and five year-old Riley climbed through the broken window of the vehicle after it had flipped over two or three times
“I first made sure the glass would not cut my hand when I crawled through it,” Will said. “I knew I had to find my moms cell phone so Riley and I started looking for it. Riley found the phone on the ground next to the vehicle.”
Boswell said she was thrown from the vehicle but doesn’t know how.
“I remember walking what seemed like 10 miles but it was only a few feet,” Boswell said. “I could hear Will saying we have got to call papaw.”
“I had memorized my papaws phone number and I knew I had to call him,” Will said. “My mom always told me the first thing to do in case of an accident is to call Papaw.”
Will, who is a fourth grader at Newton Elementary, said when he saw his mom’s head bleeding he knew he had to wrap it with something so he was going to use his blanket.
“These are my heroes and if it hadn’t been for them I wouldn’t be here today,” Boswell said. “They are brave little boys and I am so blessed to have them.”
Grandmother Cathy Myers said she and her husband Prentiss are so proud of Will and Riley because if it hadn’t been for their quick thinking things would probably have been a lot different.
“They are our little heroes,” Myers said.
