The Newton Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for their annual Chamber Banquet which will be held June 26 at 7 p.m. at The First Baptist Church in Newton.
The theme for this year’s banquet will be Hee-Haw. The traditional Silent Auction will be prior to the banquet at 6 p.m.
“The dress will be casual so come in your over-alls and blue jeans,” Chamber Director Angie Burks said. “Our entertainment will be the RidgeCrest Senior Adult Production of Hee-Haw from Madison, MS.”
Also a very important part of the banquet is the announcement of Man and Woman of the Year. Burks said the chamber will be mailing ballots to chamber members seeking nominations for man and woman of the year which will be announced at the banquet.
“We need to have the ballots returned to the chamber office no later than May 27,” Burks said. “The new chamber president and new board members along with the United Givers Fund award will be announced too.”
Beginning this week Burks said the chamber will be collecting items for the silent auction.
“Any business or person interested in donating an item may do so,” Burks said. “You can bring it to the chamber or call and we will come and pick it up.”
