Deadline nearing to nominate ECCC homecoming honorees

DECATUR – Nominations for Alumna of the Year, Alumnus of the Year and new members of the Athletic Hall of Fame are due by July 1, announced Stacey Hollingsworth, executive director for foundation and alumni relations.

Hollingsworth said nomination forms are available on the College Web site, www.eccc.edu, or by contacting her office, (601) 635-6327.

The award winners will be recognized during the annual Alumni Association Awards Luncheon held as part of Homecoming activities scheduled Oct. 3.

Also being honored during the 2009 homecoming are the 1964-76 basketball teams coached by Joe Clark; the 1991-98 basketball teams coached by Marty Cooper; and cast members of four musicals directed by Bruce Peterson – Camelot in 1974; Mame in 1979; Carousel in 1982; and Oklahoma in 1985.

Other special groups include the Class of 1949, whose members are observing their 60th reunion; and the Class of 1959, being recognized on its 50th anniversary. The Classes of 1957, 1958 and 1959 will have their annual reunion during the homecoming weekend.
