HICKORY HAPPENINGS

“HEART GIFTS” It’s not the things that can be bought that are life’s richest treasure, It’s just the little “heart gifts” that money cannot measure…A cheerful smile, a friendly word, a sympathetic nod Are priceless little treasures from the storehouse of our God…They are the things that can’t be bought with silver or with gold, For thoughtfulness and kindness and love are never sold…They are the priceless things in life for which no one can pay, And the giver finds rich recompense in giving them away.

Hickory Volunteer Fire Department has gotten a new red truck, the Department received the new fire truck last week, and will be in operation after Monday night. Richard Stampley, fireman said anyone is welcome to come by and check it out. This is a great truck it has so many devices on it that the old one didn’t have. It will be a great improvement for the Department.

Flag Day, June 14th, is a day for all Americans to celebrate and show respect for our flag, its designers and makers. Our flag is representative of our independence and our unity as a nation.....one nation, under God, indivisible. Our flag has a proud and glorious history. It was at the lead of every battle fought by Americans. Many people have died protecting it. It even stands proudly on the surface of the moon. As Americans, we have every right to be proud of our culture, our nation, and our flag. So raise the flag today and every day with pride!
