The Newton County Academy Lady Generals improved to 6-2 with three wins in as many games last week.
The Generals went 2-1 in their first action of the season.
After going to Leake Academy on Monday, NCA is off until Nov. 27 when Heidelberg Academy comes to Decatur.
NCA girls 64, Lamar Christian 15
The Lady Generals crushed Lamar Christian in the Nov. 13 contest at Purvis.
NCA grabbed a 23-2 first quarter advantage and extended its lead to 46-10 by halftime. The Lady Generals led 58-13 by the end of the third quarter.
Abby McMillan hit three 3-point baskets in leading NCA, 4-2, with 17 points.
Hanah Parker and Casey Rowzee both tossed in 10. Anna Williams scored nine, Cora Boatwright had six, and Brittany Brown and Anna-Rose Blaylock both had four.
Lamar Christian 40, NCA boys 26
The Generals struggled to score in their season-opening loss at Purvis on Nov. 13.
After a 10-10 first quarter stalemate, Lamar Christian took a 19-15 lead into halftime. NCA closed to within 24-22 over the third quarter, but managed only four points over the final eight minutes, while Lamar Christian scored 16.
NCA, 0-1, got 17 points from Landon Burt and seven from Brody Thomas.
Gabe Miller led Lamar Christian with 13. Adam Butler and Jacob Henderson both scored seven and Josh Clemts added six.
NCA girls 64, Sylva-Bay 27
The Lady Generals improved to 5-2 with Thursday’s victory at Decatur.
NCA again came out hot, outscoring the Lady Saints 26-13 in the first quarter behind 11 points from Casey Rowzee.
The Lady Generals took a 43-18 lead into halftime and were up 54-22 to start the fourth quarter.
Rowzee scored 18 points and Abby McMillan had 17 to lead NCA. All of McMillan’s came in the first half.
The Lady Generals also got 12 points from Hanah Parker, nine from Anna-Rose Blaylock, and four from Anna Williams.
Madison Watts and Anna Cobb both had nine for Sylva-Bay, 0-1. Kayla Bailey tossed in seven.
NCA boys 59, Sylva-Bay 17
The Generals evened their record at 1-1 with Thursday’s blowout win at Decatur.
NCA took a 13-6 lead in the first quarter and headed into halftime holding a 27-8 advantage. The lead grew to 41-13 over the third quarter.
Landon Burt and Brody Thomas both outscored Sylva-Bay as they tallied 20 points apiece. Burt made three 3-point baskets. Cody Cotten scored six points, while Ryan Collins had five, and Dustin Weeks had four.
Sylva-Bay, 0-1, got four points each from T.J. Moss and Aaron Westbrook.
NCA girls 74,
University Christian 49
The Lady Generals jumped out to a 40-22 halftime lead in routing UCS Friday at Decatur.
NCA led 22-13 after one quarter, then doubled the Lady Flames 18-9 in the second quarter. NCA led 55-35 to start the final period.
Casey Rowzee led NCA, 6-2, with 21 points. Abby McMillan scored 18, Kate Mason added 13, Anna Williams had nine, Anna-Rose Blaylock six, and Hanah Parker five.
UCS got 13 points from Sarah Spann, 12 from Lindsay England, and 10 each from Hannah Hogue and Lauren Sipes.

University Christian 54
Landon Burt scored 23 points to lead NCA past the Flames Friday at Decatur.
After a 9-9 first quarter draw, the Generals eased into halftime holding a 23-22 edge. NCA still led by one, 37-36, to start the fourth quarter.
NCA, 2-1, also got 18 points from Brody Thomas, six from Ryan Collins, five from Rob Roberts, and four from Cody Cotten.
UCS got 23 points from James Rader and 13 from Caleb Kellum.
