NEWTON Stacey Buren Skipper

Stacey Buren Skipper, 69, died Friday, Dec. 29 at his residence following a lengthy battle with lung cancer. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 31 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl with burial in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Skipper was born October 4, 1937 in Wayne County to the late Frank and Lillian Hearthcock Skipper. A graduate of Central High School in Waynesboro, he served four years in the U.S. Navy. He married Peggy Snowden on Nov. 26, 1960.

He worked as a field engineer for NCR Corp. for 35 years before he was disabled in a hunting accident.

Mr. Skipper greatly loved the outdoors and enjoyed boating, fishing and hunting throughout his life. His favorite moments were spent with his family, friends and hunting buddies.

He was a member of Pearl United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Peggy Snowden Skipper of Pearl; daughters Sheila Skipper of Madison and Kathy Nasianceno of Pearl; son and daughter-in-law Jerry and Kay Skipper of Brandon; grandchildren Brenden Nasianceno of Evansville, Ind., Alena and Gabriel Nasianceno of Pearl, Rachel, Scott and Mark Skipper of Brandon; brother and sister-in-law Hazen and Marilyn Skipper of Chula Vista, Calif.; sister and brother-in-law Margie and Earl Brewer of Waynesboro.

Memorials may be sent to Hospice Ministries, 450 Towne Center Blvd., Ridgeland, MS 39157 or Pearl UMC Garden Fund, 226 S. Pearson Rd., Pearl, MS 39208.



Omar Wade Bounds

Omar Wade Bounds, 66, died Friday, Dec. 29 at River Oaks Hospital in Flowood. Services were held Tuesday, Jan. 2 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon with burial in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Pearl. Bro. Keith McGee officiated.
