Eloise Gary Davis
Services for Mrs. Eloise Gary Davis were held Saturday, July 1, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation was held Friday at Webb Funeral Home from 6 to 9 p.m. with the Rev. John West officiating. Burial will be in Mount Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery with James F. Webb Funeral Home of Newton in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Greg Wall, Randy Wall, Eric Wall, Mike Alford, Lewis Earl Everect, Ras Jones and Mike Blackwall. Honorary pall bearers were Bill Montgomery and Earl Bolton.
Mrs. Davis, 82, of Fulton, Miss. and a former resident of Newton, died June 28, 2006 at North Miss. Medical Center, Tupelo, Miss.
Survivors include two daughters: Jimmie and her husband Louis Toberny of Dallas, TX; Jessie Ruth and her husband dock Wall of Mantachie; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Eugene Davis; one son, Taylor Eugene Davis; three sister: Annie Lou Spence, Martilde Carr and Tommy Loudermilk.
She was a homemaker who was born in Newton County and was a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church.

Marney Ray
Hollingsworth
Rev. Marney Ray Hollingsworth, 66, died Monday, June 26 at Lackey Memorial Hospital in Forest. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 29 at Salem Baptist Church, with burial in Good Hope Baptist Church cemetery. Rev. Larry Duncan, Dr. Leon Everett, Rev. Clifton Thornton and Rev. Tommy Anderson officiated. Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest was in charge of arrangements.
Rev. Hollingsworth was a native of Morton and had been a lifelong resident of the Good Hope community. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church. At the time of his death, he was currently Pastor of Poplar Baptist Church in Conehatta. He had worked for several years as a trustee at the Miss. Baptist Children’s Home in Laurel. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ginger Marie Nester and his brother, Larry Hollingsworth.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Sherry Hollingsworth of Lake, 4 sons, David Hollingsworth, Stanley Hollingsworth, Destry Hollingsworth and Steven Hollingsworth, all of Lake; 2 sisters, Juanita Gatewood of Lawrence and Patsy Wilkerson of Lake; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jessie Stroud, Christ Stroud, Phil Waltman, Randy Jenkins, Jr., Jackie Gentry, Freddy Dorman, Johnny Adams and Jackie McGraw.

Vera Posey
Mrs. Vera Posey, 78, died Wednesday, June 28 at Miss. Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 30 at Sand Ridge Baptist Church with burial in Salem Baptist Church cemetery. Rev. Ryan Culpepper and Rev. Joey Lang officiated. Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Posey was a native and lifelong resident of Lake. She was a member of Sand Ridge Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Newt Posey, in 1981, her parents, X.O. and Alma Weaver and one brother, Paul D. Weaver.
