Services for Samantha Thomason Sandoval were held Friday, June 29, 2007 at 10 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel in Newton with the Rev. Dale Henderson officiating. Burial was in the Hazel Baptist Church Cemetery. James F. Webb Funeral Home of Newton is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Sandoval, 24, of Vancleave, died Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at her residence.
Survivors include: her mother; Sherry Alvarez of Vancleave, her father; Rusty Thomason of Lakeland FLa, a brother; Robert Lee Myers of Forest, her maternal grandparents; William and Helen Griffin of Lawrence, her paternal grandparents; C.C. and Catherine Thomason of Lawrence, her maternal great-grandmother; Luvie D. Porter of Lawrence, an uncle; Sammy Griffin of Vancleave, two nephews; Seth Griffin and Tristan King, and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandfather; James Otis Porter and her aunt; Tammy King.
Samantha was a graduate of Philadelphia High School in Philadelphia. She also attended East Central Community College in Decatur. She was an employee of The Preserve Golf Resort. She will be greatly missed by her friends and loved ones.
Pallbearers were; Colton Mitchell, Jason Posey, El’Ray King, Scott Bounds, Gary Bokkin, Danny McGee andd Robby Myers.
W.A. “Dubb” Todd
Hickory
Services for Mr. W.A. “Dubb” Todd were held Friday, July 7, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, with the Revs. Thomas Laird, Winnie McMahhon and Leon Everett officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery with Newton County Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Todd, 71, of Hickory died July 4, 2007 at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian. He was a self-employed carpenter.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Mrs. Janie Bennett Todd of Hickory; two sons, David and wife Ann Todd of Chunky, Dewayne and wife Lisa of Collinsville, Danny and wife Karen Todd of Hickory; a brother; Terry and wife Dianne Todd; two sisters, Ellene Jones, Geraldene and husband Leon Taylor; grandchildren; Josh and wife Leah Todd, Travis and wife Brenda Todd, Danny and wife Mallory Todd, Tiffany and husband Bryan Griffith, Keri and husband Josh Knost; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Tanner, Jolee and Laynee Todd, Layela, Christopher, Kaiden Griffith and Jace Knost. He is also survived by an aunt, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; David and Bessie Rigdon Todd; a sister; Waudene Pugh; brothers, two G.W. Todd and Wayne Todd; and grandson Dustan Todd.
The family requests memorials be made to The Gideons and The American Cancer Society.
Todd will be remembered as one who loved his church, family, fishing and camping.
Pallbearers were; Arleigh Allen, Bobby Caldwell, Larry Coker, John Todd, Raymond McMillan and Mike McNeil. Honorary pallbearers were; Josh Todd, Travis Todd, Danny Todd, Jr., Bryan Griffith, Josh Knost, Taylor Todd and Christopher Griffith.
Terry Lee Williams
Services for Terry Lee Williams were held Wednesday, July 4, at 3 p.m. at Newton County Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Pouncey officiating. Burial was in Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
Williams, 52, of Newton, died Thursday, June 28, 2007, at Lickling Memorial Hospital in Newark, Ohio. He was employed by ACIS Co., as a survey superintendent.
Survivors include his sister, Linda Maske and her husband, Steve, of Newton; brothers, Bob Williams and his wife, Rhonda and Keith Williams and his wife, Denise, all of Newton; nieces, Michelle Newell and her husband, Brad, of Newton, Ashley Williams of Newton and Nikki Rayborn, of Tallahassee, Fla.; nephews, Cody Maske, Jason Williams and his wife, Seana, all of Newton; a great-niece, Bralynn Newell of Newton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Harvey and Bonnie Jean Kennedy Williams.
Pallbearers were Jamie Nance, Rodney Moore, Rocky Godwin, George Ward, Bo Maske, Chris Shimfessel, Scott Lenhart and Ricky McCoullough.
Honorary pallbearers were William Pierce, Johnny Wagner and The Hill Gang.
Visitation was Tuesday, July 3, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
