James William Carr
James William Carr, 89, a retired construction worker, died August 23, 2007 at Heartfelt Hospice, Meridian.
Funeral services were held Monday, August 27, 2007 at Newton Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Pine Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery in Lawrence.
The Rev. Mark McDonald officiated the services. Newton County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Carr served in the U.S. Marine Corp during World War II. He was a member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church.
Survivors include: wife of 66 years, Jewel Phillips Carr of Lawrence, a daughter, Barbara Barnett of Tampa, Fla.; a son, Bobby and his wife Patti Carr of Lawrence; two sisters, Arthur Miriam Oden of Stone Mountain, Ga. and Pat Moore, LaGrange, Ga., two brothers, John Robert Carr of Ball, La. and Michel Anthony Carr of Independence, Kan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Robert and Eva Katherine White Carr; two brothers and four sisters.
Pallbearers were Bubba Bonds, Wayne Gordy, Wayne Clanton, Chris Bagley and Spurgeon Jones.
Billy D. Graham
Services for Mr. Billy D. Graham will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at White Plains Assembly of God Church. The burial will be in the church cemetery. Rev. Brett Cooper and Rev. Ricky Boler will officiate. Mr. Graham, 64, passed away on Monday, August 27, 2007 at Hospice in His Hands in Madden.
Survivors include: one daughter, Sonda Payan of Florida, two sons; Terry Graham of Georgia and Chad Graham of Texas, three brothers; Roy Graham of Conehatta, Bud Graham of Texas, Willie Graham of Sebastopol, three sisters; Ann Breedlove and Eva Breedlove of Philadelphia, Neva Breedlove of Conehatta, nine grandchildren.
Pallbearers are: Mike Gully, Iran Hillman, Matt Clark, Jason Gilmore, Kenneth Graham, Dale Scott, Jason McElhenney and Adam Boykin.
