Juanita Bounds
Services for Juanita Bounds were held Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2007 at Newton County Funeral Home Chapel at 10 a.m. with the Revs. Wayne Sellers and Billy Ray Gibbs officiating. Burial was in Pine Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery in Lawrence with Newton County Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Bounds, 81, of Newton died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007 at her residence. She was a retired machine operator with the Newton Company. She was a member of the First Methodist Protestant Church of Newton.
Survivors include her husband, Howard G. Bounds of Newton, daughter Wanda Bethany and husband George of Lawrence; sons Rodney Bounds and wife Judy of Newton, and Richard Bounds and wife Alexis of Shalimar, Fla., a sister Genell Williams of Newton, and a brother Othell Burton of Meridian. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and six sisters. She is also survived by four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Ricky Horton, Lee Eady, Mike Bounds, William Mayes, Ronny Nicholson, J. O. Amis, and Rayford Bounds.
Claybourne L. Kilpatrick
Claybourne L. Kilpatrick was born September 5, 1945 and died September 1, 2007. He was a disabled American Veteran in the U.S. Army SFC/E7. He was awarded the National Defense Service medal, Vietnam Service medal (two bronze stars), Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with palm, Air medal with Device Numeral -3 Army Service Ribbon, Senior Aircraft Crewman Badge, Ar,u Commendation Medal (10 Oakleaf cluster) Godd Conduct Medal (six awards), Overseas Service Ribbon NCD Professional Development Ribbon (three), Marksman (Rifle).
Survivors include:wife; Dearey Gibbs Kilpatrick, stepson; Robert A. Gibbs, stepdaughters; Karen E. Dickson, Vickie L. Gibbs, step-granddaughters; Beth Gibbs, Amanda Dickson, Darcy Hartin, Step great-granddaughter; Rileigh Dickson Scott all of Newton, mother; Daree Kilpatrick, sisters; Patsy McMullan, Elizabeth Williamson and Allay Duffee, brothers; Thomas Kilpatrick, Ricky Kilpatrick of Tennessee, special aunt; Lou Alexander of Duffee, daughters; Ahlena and Stephanie, son; Lacy.
Services were held at Newton County Funeral Home Chapel and burial was in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Officiating at the service was Bro. Steve Robinson and Bro. James Galloway.
Preceded in death by father Odie Kilpatrick, brother; Ted Kilpatrick.
Pallbearers were: Alvin Alexander, Dave Miller, Nathan Rushing, Bo Gibbs, Darvell Hart and Ronnie Strait.
