Services for Mrs. Bernice Bounds Leach were held Tuesday, Oct. 3 at 11 a.m. at Webb Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Midway Baptist church Cemetery with James F. Webb Funeral Home of Newton.
Mrs. Leach, 100, of Newton died on Oct. 1 at Newton Regional Hospital in Newton.
Survivors include two sisters, Annie L. Wheeler of Decatur and Fannie G. Dennis of Laurel; two brothers, Frank and his wife Dot Bounds of Maretta, Ga.; Howard and his wife Quanita Bounds of Newton; three grandchildren, Larry and his wife Jill Rush of Lawrence; Benny and his wife Connie Buggs of Newton and Rhonda and her husband Daryl Stodard of Florida; three great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter C. Leach and parents: William Lamar and Addie Cooper Bounds; a daughter, Wydell Rush; a son, L.C. Buggs; six brothers, Rayford, Clyde, Floyd, T.J., Cecil and Earnest Bounds.
She was a homemaker born in Newton County and was a member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church.
Pall Bearers were Rodney Bounds, Ricky Horton, Ray Ford Bounds, Darrell Stodard.
