Howard Neil Sims
Funeral services for Howard Neil Sims were held Friday, Nov. 23, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home with burial in Bay Springs City Cemetery in Bay Springs.
Sims 73, died Nov. 20, 2007 at his residence. He was born on June 16, 1934. He had two years of college, served in the Army and attended South Raleigh Baptist Church.
Survivors include; wife Patsy Sims; a son, Alan (Jessica) Sims of Louin, a daughter, Amy Mabry of Clinton; two granddaughters, Mariah and Macie Sims; four brothers, T. Q. Sims of Laurel, Billy Wayne Sims of Raleigh, Larry Sims of Bay Springs, and Donald Sims of Kennesaw, Ga.; and a sister, Eva Raye Mercer of Quitman. He was preceded in death by parents, Major M. And Zetha M. Sims, sisters, Carol Sims and Marjorie Faye Buckley.

Mike French
Services for Mike French were held Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007 at 3 p.m. at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Steve Robinson and Ken Robinson officiating. Burial was in Erin Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Stephens Funeral Home of Union in charge of arrangements.
French, 51, of Union, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007 at Laird Hospital in Union. Survivors include his wife Gail Brown French of Union; a son Rev. Ken French and wife Sharon of Union; two stepsons Rev. Ronnie Robinson and wife Michele of Chunky, and Rev. Steve Robinson and wife Vickie of Newton; seven grandchildren; mother Helen Graham French of Union; a brother David French and wife Debbie of Union; two sisters Kathy Graham and husband Delbert of Conehatta, Janis Vance of Philadelphia; an aunt Margaret Evans of Union; two uncles Loomis Graham of Conehatta, and Larry French of Conehatta. He was preceded in death by his father Perry Lee French.
Graham was a retired officer from Newton County Sheriff’s Department.
Pallbearers were: Pete Graham, Josh French, Levi French, Jason French, Douglas Mayes, Ronnie Harris, Joel Harrison and Delbert Graham.
Earnestine B. Sant
Services for Earnestine B. Sant were held Monday, Nov. 26, at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with the Revs. Winnie McMahon and Thomas Laird officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery with James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Sant, 59, of Chunky, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2007 at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian. She was a dietary manager at the East Mississippi Nursing Home in Meridian. She was also employed by Peavey Electronics for more than 25 years. She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be missed by many.
Survivors include her husband Tommy Sant of Chunky; her daughter Cheryl Pugh of Hickory; her son Tommy Jack Sant of Decatur; three grandchildren Hank Pugh, Kyle Pugh and Caitlyn Sant; two brothers, Billy Buckley of Houston, Texas, Buster Buckley of Chunky; two sisters, Fannie Ruth Williams of Hickory; Dale Huey of Little Rock, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph Elijah and Nora Rainer Buckley.
Pallbearers were Mike Williams, Lee Buckley, Johnny Buckley, Brandon Williams, James Dean and Bro. Devalcourt. Honorary pallbearers were Richard Harris, and Bobby Pugh.

Aline Ruth Jones Payne
Private grave side services for Aline Ruth Jones Payne were held Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007 at Gulde Cemetery in Rankin County. Burial was in the Gulde Cemetery with James F. Wbb Funeral Home of Newton in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Payne, 84, of Newton, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2007 at Newton Regional Hospital.
Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Luke of Hickory, and Donna Lunsford of Arkansas; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Howard T. Payne Jr.
