Gladys Eddins Johnson
Services for Gladys Eddins Johnson were held Friday, Dec. 14, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Newton County Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Leon Holley officiating. Burial was at Newton County Memorial Gardens. Newton County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Johnson, 81, of Hickory died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007, in Meridian.
She was a homemaker and was a member of Hickory Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Henry Herbert Johnson of Hickory, sons Billy Johnson and wife Pamela of Hickory and Raymond Louis Johnson and wife Patricia of Morton, brother Roy Wynn Eddins, Jr. of Vaiden, grandchildren, Michael Cory Johnson, Melissa Carol Johnson, Lila Kate Leach, Anita Marie Shirley, great-grandchildren, Braden Riley Johnson, Alley Kate Leach and Hanna Louise Terry.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Wynn Eddins and Vivian Smith Eddins. The family has requested that memorials be made to your favorite charity.
Visitation was held Thursday, December 13, 2007 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Newton County Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were: Bobby Noah, Charles Ellis, Jerry Shirley, Sidney Cook, Herb Oliver, Charles Scheilbach, Bob Douglas and Joey Murphey. Honorary pallbearers were Don Stamper and Bob Strebeck.

Infant Paxton Ann Pugh
Graveside services for infant Paxton Ann Pugh were held Monday, Dec. 17, 2007 at 10 a.m. at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Lee Gressett officiating with James F. Webb Funeral Home of Newton in charge of arrangements.
Infant Pugh, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007 at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian.
Survivors include her parents, Alexis Styburski and Jeremy Pugh; maternal grandmother Victoria Styburski, paternal grandmother Brenda Garrison and her husband, Jimmy, paternal grandfather, Curtis Pugh, two aunts, Crystal Garrison and Samantha Styburski.

Kent Spears
Funeral services for Kent Spears were held Monday, Dec. 17, 2007 at 2 P.M. at the chapel of McClain-Hays Funeral Home. The Rev. Jerry Germany officiated. Burial was in Eastlawn Cemetery.
Spears, 57, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007 at his home in Philadelphia.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Neshoba County. He was a longtime employee of Weyerhaeuser Co. until his retirement due to disability. He was a Baptist by faith and was a member of the Miss. Thoroughbred Assn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Noel and Maude Spears; and a brother, Shorty Spears.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Spears of Philadelphia; two daughters, Angie Bobo of Carthage, and Renee Ellingburg of Philadelphia; five grandsons, Ethan, Dylan, and Hagan Bobo; and Tristan and Colby Ellingburg; two sisters, Sara Myers of Newton, and Jeanette Herrington of Decatur; one brother, Wayne Spears of Sebastopol; and a number of nieces, nephews and their families.
Pallbearers were: Johnny Herrington, Ronnie Myers, Don Myers, Stan Spears, Bobby Singleton, Mike Nance, Reed Myers, Perry Gray, Ricky Myers, and Randy Spears.

Katherine Knowlin
Services for Katherine Knowlin was held Wednesday, December 17, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Murray Chapel in Decatur with the Elder Clarence Russell officiating. Burial was in Decatur cemetery with Clark’s Memorial Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Knowlin, 72, of Decatur died December 16, 2007 at Rush Hospital in Meridian.
