Naomi Foster Blount
Graveside services for Naomi Foster Blount will be held today, Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Decatur Cemetery with the Rev. Hank Winstead, the Rev. Mark Vincent, the Rev. Johnny Crosby and the Rev. Jack Keen officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Blount, 86, of Decatur, died Monday, Dec. 25, 2006, in her home.
Survivors include her husband of more than 64 years, Lamar Blount of Decatur; three children, Lynn B. Mayo and husband Bud of Bartlesville, Okla., Jackie B. Harrison and husband Harry of Oxford, and Joseph L. Blount and wife Rosalie of Jackson; a neice, Nancy Grimes Stephens of Philadelphia; and five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren .
She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth L. Blount, a sister Ruth Blackwell her parents Mr. and Mrs, J.P. Foster of Philadelphia and a special sister-in-law Viola Blount.
Visitation will be today from noon until service time at the funeral home.
The family requests memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
She as a wonderful mother and homemaker, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, known for her cooking, her love for music and being an alto were shared for many years. She was a longtime member of Decatur Untied Methodist Church.
Pallbearers will be: Bud Mayo, Harry Harrison, Robert Blount, Dr. Colby Mayo, Buck Adams, Aaron Broad.
Ricky Dale
Hollingsworth
Services for Ricky Dale Hollingsworth were held December 24 at 2 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Leon Everett and Lin Chesney officiating. Burial was in Pine Bluff Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Hollingsworth, 37, of Newton, died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006, at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian.
Survivors include his wife, Regenia Kyzar Hollingsworth; a daughter, Sarah Hollingsworth; a son, Eric Kyzar; parents Otis Dale and Lessie Pearl Hollingsworth; a sister, Donna Todd and her husband, John, all of Newton; a brother, Mark Hollingsworth and his wife, Stacie, of Conehatta; his father-in-law Jimmie Kyzar of Newton; and several uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William Otis and Agnes Mayes Hollingsworth.
He was a truck driver for La-Z-Boy and was a member of the Pine Bluff Baptist Church.
Pallbearers were Billy Buckley, Craig Kelly, Edward Stokes, Doug Hollingsworth, Wayne Hollingsworth, Jeff Ezelle, Ray Thomas and Steve Felton.
Dessa Marie Doyle
Mercer
Services for Dessa Marie “Kelly” Doyle Mercer were held Friday, December 22, at 2 p.m. 0at Milling Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Todd Thompson officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Zion Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Mercer, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006, at Newton Regional Hospital.
Survivors include her daughters, Sherrie Moore and her husband, Brobby, of Union and Julia Tucker of Decatur; sons, James Reeves Tucker Jr., John Christopher Tucker and Vinnie Tucker, all of Decatur; a sister, Naomi Doyle; brothers, John Doyle, Ross Doyle, Mitchell Doyle and Terry Doyle; three grandchildren; three brothers and four sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Uley Preston Doyle and Dessa Smallwood Doyle and a sister.
