Scholarships
• Pilgrim Rest MB Church, 1554 Turkey Creek Road, Decatur will celebrate their Scholarship Program on Sunday, May 18 at 11:15 AM. All members having received scholarships are ask to be present, Rev. Willie C. Wash, pastor.
Singing
• Pilgrim Rest MB Church in Decatur will celebrate their annual choir day Sunday, June 1, 2:30 p.m. All choirs, soloists and groups are invited to attend. Rev. Willie C. Rush, pastor.
Fund-raisers
• Salem Baptist Church is selling religious Southern Belle T-shirts. This is a fund-raiser to build a children’s playground. Two designs are available: “True Southern Belles Love Jesus” and “True Southern Belles Know their Mansion is in Heaven...Jesus said so! John 14:2-3”. Sizes range from Youth XS - Youth LG, $12 each and Adult S - Adult XXXL, $16 each. Anyone interested in purchasing a shirt may call 601-775-8272.
• Hamburger plates will be sold on Friday, May 9 in Newton on the old Sunflower parking lot, beginning at 10:30. This is sponsored by the Youth Dept. of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Chunky. The plate consists of Hamburger, chips, cake and a drink for $5.

Benefit Programs
* There will be a benefit gospel singing on Saturday, May 17 at 6 pm for cancer patient Billy Ray Walters at Lawrence Baptist Church. Featured quartets will be Southern Heritage, Victorybound and The Gospel Travelers. There is no charge but a love offering will be taken. Refreshments will be served in the fellowship hall following the singing. Billy Ray was diagnosed with cancer in March and is currently undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatment. Mother’s Day Services
• A Mother’s Day Banquet and Concert on May 11 at 4 p.m. will be held at the C. H. Boler Alumni Building on Hwy 15 North in Decatur. The B & H Gospel Singers of Louin will be in concert. Admission is free but a love offering will be taken up. The menu is Fried turkey and dressing, string beans, corn, rolls, tea, lemonade, banana pudding, and cream cheesecake.
• Sylvester United Methodist Church will honor mothers Sunday, May 11, Mother’s Day at 11 a.m. Sister Addie Watts of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church will be the guest speaker. Everyone is invited. Pastor: Rev. Gary Hampton.
Revival
• Rev. Don Taylor will be the guest evangelist Sunday, May 11, as the Lucern Congregational Methodist Church in Union begins its spring revival. Services on Sunday will be held at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. respectively. Service time for the rest of the revival week will be at 7 p.m., Monday through Wednesday. Rev. Wesley Landrum, pastor at the Lucern Congregational Methodist Church, invites you to come and worship with them.

Women’s Programs
* Wesley Chapel UMC on Hwy 80 East in Hickory will hold its Annual Women’s Day Program on Sunday, May 18 at 11 a.m. The evening program will begin at 2:30 p.m. with special guest evangelist Linda Lorraine Brown of Michigan. Everyone is invited to attend. Pastor: Rev. Gary Hampton.
• You are invited to worship with us during the annual Men and Women’s Day Program on May 25 at the 11 a.m. worship service. The speaker will be Rev. O.J. Edison and Sis. Carolyn M. Edison. Theme: Christian Men and Women Witnessing in Today’s Society”. Pastor: Shawn Croft.
Youth Program
• The Youth Department of Altare Baptist Church will be sponsoring a Youth for Christ Program on May 18 at 2 p.m. Our speaker for this program is 19 year old minister Lyles Lee of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Ludlow. We invite all youth choirs, groups and soloists to attend. Pastor Robert Moncrief.
National Day of Prayer
• Third New Hope District Women’s Auxiliary will be in Observance of the National Day of Prayer. There will be a prayer breakfast in accordance with the National Day of Prayer Service. All activities will be held at Morning Star MB Church located at 54 4th Ave. in Newton. Breakfast will begin at 8 a.m. on May 17. Pastor Rev. Shawn Croft invites everyone to come supportour nation with your prayers.
Gospel Concert
• Richard Ferguson and the 2nd Mile Group of Dekalb, will be in concert Saturday, May 17 at 7 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 1158 Sixteenth Church Rd. in Chunky. No admission will be charged but an offering will be received.
